At half past three this afternoon, Liverpool Coastguard were alerted to an incident in the water at Blackpool beach involving two fourteen year olds.

Yesterday afternoon Portland Coastguard received a call from the crew of a yacht expressing concern for a yacht, `Erma, who had caused them to alter course in the middle of the English Channel and who did not respond to hails or VHF.

At a little after 4.00 pm this afternoon Brixham Coastguard requested that the Torbay RNLI Lifeboat and Torbay Council patrol boat go to investigate reports of three people in the water off Hopes Nose after it was reported that one wake-boarder had been injured whilst being towed by a speedboat.

Yesterday afternoon at around 1.30 pm, the skipper of the motor-boat `Cats Whiskers made an emergency call to Portland Coastguard on VHF Channel 16 to report that a jet ski with one male rider had collided with the motor-boat Albabra in the entrance to Poole Harbour; the jet-ski rider had been thrown from his craft and had sustained head injuries.

Just before 11.00 pm this evening Humber Coastguard were alerted to a dive boat in Beadnell Bay which was reporting a male diver in his 30s from Chester-Le-Street overdue by half an hour in the darkness.

Earlier this evening Portland Coastguard were alerted to a dog over the cliff at Durdle Door in Dorset. The cocker spaniel Lola had escaped its leash and was halfway down the cliff and could not return to its owner, who comes from Gloucestershire, who in turn was becoming very concerned for its safety.

At just after 2.00 pm today Portland Coastguard were alerted to a fire on a small vessel in the Wareham Channel near Poole Harbour at Keysworth Point. At the time of the call the 27 foot home made, red hulled, white superstructure vessel was alight and the call indicated that there was petrol on board. The skipper, a 31 year old man also indicated he might be suffering from smoke inhalation.
